Albina Molodozhan

Albina Molodozhan was born in Moscow, Russia, where she began violin lessons with Alexander Shirinsky at the age of six. At age ten, she played solo on Moldavian broadcast.In 2004, Albina graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music with a Master's degree in violin performance, where she studied with Vladimir Rabei former Borodin Quartet member, student and assistant of Abram Yampolsky. In July 2001, Albina participated in master classes in Germany - International Summer Academy for Young Artists, Bayerische Musikakademie Marktoberdorf. Her teachers included Prof. Dr. Helmut Zehetmair and Prof. Vladimir Ivanov. In Toronto, she took master classes with Jacques Israelievitch and Mark Skazinetsky.
Ms. Molodozhan has performed numerous concerts throughout Russia, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Canada, with piano Trio-Continuum. As soloist, she has been heard in many prestigious music halls, including Moscow International Performance Arts Center, Rahmaninov hall of the Moscow Conservatory and Laeiszhalle Musikhalle Hamburg. Albina received an award at the Russian National Festival "Festos" for talented students as best chamber music performer. She recorded a CD in 2004 as a soloist with Gnesin Russian Academy of Music chamber orchestra in Moscow: Bach - Concertos in D Minor for two violins and A Minor for violin. In November 2008, Albina Molodozhan toured with Sinfonia Toronto (music director Nurhan Arman) in the heart land of Germany.
Ms. Molodozhan held the position of principal second violinist with the Koffler Chamber Orchestra (music director Jacques Israelievitch), and teaches violin at the Koffler Centre of the Arts. Albina is currently united with the Gould String Quartet and Sinfonia Toronto.
